PowerPoint allows its users to record the movements of a laser pointer in order to get a web-based/self-running slide show enhanced. If you want to learn this skill, you should repeat the following steps:
Go to the tab “Slide Show” which you will find in the group “Set Up” and point to the arrow which you can see next to “Record Slide Show”.
You can press “Start Recording from Beginning” or “Start Recording from Current Slide”. You choice will depend on where exactly you would like to start your recording.
Find the dialog box “Record Slide Show” and choose the check box “Narrations and laser pointer”.
Now you have to press “Start Recording”.
In order to make the pause, you have to press “Pause” in the box “Recording”, and to resume it, just press “Resume Recording”.
In order to draw the attention of your viewers to certain major points on your PowerPoint slide, you have to press and then hold the key Ctrl, and then just press and drag the left button of your mouse.
In order to jump to the next PowerPoint slide, you will need to release the key Ctrl and press the left button of your mouse.
If you want to finish your recording, just right-press your ppt slide and click the command “End Show”. Note that this recording is saved in an automatic mode. Your slide show will appear in the view “Slide Sorter” with recorded timing under every PowerPoint slide in your presentation.
In order to check and view all the movements of your pointer which have been recorded, you will need to find the tab “Slide Sorter” in the group “Start Slide Show” and press one of these options: “From Beginning” or “From Current Slide”.
Finally, if you are not satisfied with your recording of slide timing/pointer movements and you want to re-do them, just do the same steps described above.
